International Sports Training Camp (ISTC) is a summer sports camp for kids ages 8 to 17. Our private 400-acre facility is located in the Pocono Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania.
We combine traditional camping experiences with a one week sports camp! We offer specialized sports programs in soccer and basketball, one very popular all sports program, and IXTC, a sport and adventure program for older campers.
All our coaches stress sportsmanship and team play while teaching life skills in a fun and safe atmosphere. We want our campers to improve their play but also to make friends and try new experiences which help them to grow as individuals.
PROGRAMS
Our All Sports Program is for the adventuresome athlete who wants an overall sports camp experience! All Sports is for boys and girls ages 8 to 16.
Throughout the day campers rotate to different athletic experiences. All Sports is filled with plenty of familiar sports, like soccer and flag football, and we introduce you to "international" sports such as cricket and rugby. We spend a lot of time at the waterfront with jet skiing and banana boating, and we spend lots of time in the air learning trapeze and conquering our climbing tower. In each session, campers are taught the specific sport skills and then they play games. Taking volleyball for example, campers break into groups for educational drills and exercises and then they divide into teams for tournaments.
ISTC also focuses on the most important aspect of any sport, sportsmanship! We want our campers to walk away with a total appreciation for sports and athleticism. At the end of camp, all campers receive an individual score card cataloging their progression throughout the week(s). Trophies and certificates are also awarded on the final day.
International Sports Training Camp's sport and adventure camp, IXTC, is for campers aged 15 to 17. Camp Director Mark Major came up with the idea for a program designed for and by our older campers. Throughout the summer of 2005, Mark met with groups of campers to get their input. IXTC debuted in 2006 and it was a smash hit!
IXTC is a combination of sports and adventure activities. The program is limited to roughly 40 campers per week. Those 40 campers are broken down into four coed teams. In addition to all the sports and adventure activities, the program also focuses on leadership development, teamwork and decision making.
IXTC follows the same camp schedule as All Sports and includes adventure activities such as dune buggies, water skiing, trapeze, banana boating and laser tag. Also, if campers are ages 16 and 17, they receive jet ski lessons and obtain their jet ski license!
Our office is open weekdays from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
We are closed on the weekends.
