An association of seven YMCA branches serving Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.
To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
Character Counts At the YMCA good character and values are an important part of everything we do. By teaching, enforcing, advocating, and modeling the six pillars of character, we build strong kids, strong families, and a stronger community for all.
Six Pillars of Character Counts 1. Caring 2. Citizenship 3. Fairness 4. Respect 5. Responsibility 6. Trustworthiness
Founded in 1887, the Channel Islands YMCA is a non-profit association of men, women and children of all ages, races and ethnic groups, economic conditions and religious affiliations serving more than 35,000 individuals each year. Over 2,000 YMCA volunteers including coaches, camp counselors, fundraisers and board members work in partnership with professionally trained staff to plan and direct programs. Our financial assistance policies ensure that no one is turned away for reasons of inability to pay.
Each year, children and teens practice new skills, make friends and learn the value of cooperation at YMCA day and resident camps. The YMCA also offers weeklong camps filled with adventure and fun for your entire family.
